Laurie Pederson is dedicated to filmmaking and the development of the film industry in Sacramento. Since her first film project in 2001, Pederson has been tireless in her pursuit of all things related to the art of filmmaking - with the majority of those duties being in a non-paid or volunteer capacity, which earned her the 2009 Arts & Business Council's award for 'Arts Volunteer of the Year'. She has produced 20+ film projects & music videos as an independent producer; founded the Capital Film Arts Alliance, a non-profit association of local filmmakers and talent with a growing database of over 900 members in the Sac-Sierra region; she is one of 3 co-directors of the Sacramento Film & Music Festival, a landmark 10-day entertainment event taking place every summer; and most recently Laurie has been hired in a senior management position as Project Manager for Nehst Studios, an up and coming film production, financing and distribution company based out of the east coast.
Pederson is also actively involved with Mayor Kevin Johnson's 'Arts Initiative' committee to develop the film industry in Sacramento, saying "The creative talent and opportunity for this community is unlimited and I will continue to work every day towards fulfilling the goal of making Sacramento a major film production hub and film making destination!" Since 1990, Ms. Jones has developed Beth Jones Art Consultant into a highly regarded firm with projects in several states and art programming for buildings from 10,000 to 700,000+ square feet. Read more…


The scope of these projects include analysis of architectural and design elements for the placement of artwork, site specific commissions, interfacing with municipal organizations when necessary, proposing and maintaining budgets, facilitation of and presentation to an art selection committee, design and coordination of framing, installation with attention to security issues, and integration of appropriate lighting.
In 2000 Jones and Lynda Jolley started JAYJAY, a contemporary fine art gallery, now celebrating nearly 10 years as a gallery and 7 years in its current location in East Sacramento. In a review of its inaugural exhibit at the Elvas Avenue location, Bee art critic, Victoria Dalkey, wrote, "JAYJAY has become the hottest gallery in town." (September 29, 2002) Hide


In 1995, Bronston founded, The Tower of Youth, a telecommunications, media and performing arts youth career and leadership project, and Theatron Media Arts Training Academy. The unique regional Sacramento valley and Sierra foothill all teenage organization has gathered over 1200 youth each of the 12 years of its operation, and produces two annual, all-youth media festivals in state of the art digital graphic movie making – Read more…


The Teen Digital Reel Showcase and Awards, and in video and film production, The North American All Youth Film and Education Day, held in Sacramento. More than one-and-a-half million dollars in industry contributions has been invested. Tower of Youth was selected as the Best Arts Organization, 2003, by the Arts and Business Council of Sacramento.
In 2003, the Governor signed legislation Bronston authored , The Digital Arts Studio Partnership Act” into law establishing statewide policy support for after school training and workforce development in media arts for teen youth. This led to the establishment of the regional Sacramento Sierra Digital Arts Studio Partnership and five other state-wide California DASP non profit organizations and Boards which Bronston coordinates pending agreements in 2009 with the Governor of the State of California who became the unofficial program “host” with his office’s support of legislation, AB 2471 (Karnette). No stranger to the arts community, Michelle Alexander has a solid history of involvement in the arts and has served on several boards of non-profit organizations including the Arts and Business Council of Sacramento. She started her career working for Sacramento News and Review and established the first Music Industry Summit as a board member of the Music Industry Consortium of Sacramento (MICS). – Read more…
